The MPA Program is a NASPAA-accredited degree program. It’s a distinction that identifies Suffolk’s MPA as one of the country’s top-tier academic programs in public administration.
Our faculty link analytical curriculum requirements with “real-world” cases to give you a practical education that represents the cutting edge in public management practice. What you learn in the classroom Monday night, you can bring to the office Tuesday morning.
Choose career-focused electives in Health Policy, Nonprofit Management, or Government, or expand your options and take up to two electives in any Sawyer Business School or College of Arts and Sciences Graduate Program. Other career options include, but are not limited to:
- Government Policy and Leadership Management
- Public Budgeting and Financial Management
- Law & Public Policy
- Public Service Leadership
- Policy Analysis and Evaluation
- Public Safety
- Information Resource Management
Classes are held on evenings and Saturdays. You can complete the program in just three semesters of full-time study.
Our graduates work in all levels of government, nonprofits, healthcare, and public service. MPA alumni include members of the U.S. Congress and the Massachusetts House and Senate, as well as cabinet-level officials, municipal managers, and chief executive officers in every type of public service organization imaginable.
But most importantly, our alumni are invested in your success. They come back to teach, mentor, speak in courses, and take classes.
Robert Allison chairs the History Department at Suffolk University in Boston. He writes about American history, teaches courses on it, and regularly speaks about Boston history.
